Gasoline only has a shelf life of approximately 30 days. Use of a fuel stabilizer is suggested on equipment that is used seasonally or occasionally. Fuel begins to really cause engine performance problems on carburated engines with fuel older than 4 months. Be sure to use fresh fuel and when in doubt flush the fuel system. If the fuel in the tank is "stinky" you can be sure that the fuel pump and carburetor will be much worse. Call us for a rebuild kit for your fuel pump or carburetor. (Many vacuum pulse pumps will need to be replaced as kits are no longer available)
